Collectoberfest: A SUCCESS!
AFC World would like to thank those of you who attended the Collectoberfest in Fishkill, NY this past Sunday! It was great to meet some of our readers and members in person. Nothing beats great toy talk with collectors and fans that are as passionate about this hobby as we are. Thank you all once again! Also, a big thanks to the Collectorfest staff who put together a great show and made everything run as smooth as could be for AFC World and everyone else involved. The Collectorfest folks will be running another show in Philadelphia, PA coming up on on November 24th and 25th at the New Alhambra Arena (otherwise know as "The ECW Arena"). AFC World will not be in attendance at the the Philly show, but we'll be back with the Collectorfest this coming January 2008 in Fishkill, NY. More information on that show to come! The Action Figure Network Has Arrived
At last, a community for collectors!

Sherman, CT – August 24, 2006 – AFC World, dedicated to providing online tools to Collectors and Toy Industry Professionals, is proud to bring you the beginning of a new age of collecting on the internet with the launch of their new web site, The Action Figure Network. The AFN is a unique online community which allows collectors, fans, marketing professionals and online store owners to network and communicate with one another directly. The Action Figure Network incorporates many popular features from other community web sites, such as blogs, discussions, classified ads and events along with new features targeted at the collecting world. For example, AFN’s Collection Gallery. Users can post images of their collections, their stores, or upcoming products to showcase to other members of the community. And collector specific groups, where users can create their own mini-communities within The AFN.

Many new features geared toward collectors are also set for release. In the coming weeks The AFN will debut a Virtual Battle feature where your favorite action figures battle it out and you decide who will win. The AFN Leaderboard is also on the way. You'll earn points for all of your actions on The AFN. The more points you have, the higher you'll go on the leaderboard, and you'll be qualified for special giveaways as well. A reviews section is also set for release. AFN members will be able to review action figures and collectibles both old and new through the community. Users can post images, comments and give an overall rating.

AFC World is in the planning stages to launch additional web sites and online tools for both Collectors and Toy Industry Professionals over the next few years.
